Memorial Ride

WOW! That was all I could think to say when I rolled into Chandlerville Saturday morning around 11:45am. I was one of the last ones to show up, and the ride started promptly at 12:00 noon. The sound of the cycles starting up almost in unisom, was music to the ears, knowing why the one reason, each one of them was there, Steve. Seeing them all roll off into the distance and knowing that the journey has begun to bring justice in Steve's case. I had the priveledge of meeting alot of very nice people. A few were family of Steve's, others were friends, and some were like me, they didn't know Steve, but felt that he was taken away to early, and that justice needs to be done.

The ride started at Slick-Penny's in Chandlerville, and then onto City's in Jacksonville, The Still in New Berlin, Dena's in Ashland, East Side in Virginia, then back to Chandlerville. I have to say, personally, the one part about the ride, that I will remember the most, was leaving Dena's in Ashland, on our way to Virginia. The motorcade made a turn onto Horseshoe Drive. This brought tears to my eyes, and I am sure there were a few others who had the same effect. To see people standing outside of their homes on Horseshoe Drive, clapping, and raising their hands in the air, and cheering for the people driving through, was truely a great thing to see.

I will be getting pictures of the Ride posted within the next week or two. T-Shirts are still available, and you may order one by emailing wtkns@casscomm.com or finnagency@casscomm.com.

Big Thanks to Mark Thoma

Would like to send out a Big Thanks to Mark Thoma from 970 WMAY! He has helped bring attention to this case on his talk show, which is from 3-6pm. He recently received word from a National News chain, that they would look over the information that has been sent to them on this case. Will anything be brought about this? Not sure. I can say, atleast this story is being looked upon parties outside of Central Illinois. The more attention this case gets, the harder it will be for it to go away without justice being served.

Thank you Mark!

Message from Anne Plunkett

As many of you know a good friend of mine was murdered Nov. 25th, 2008 at the residence of his estranged wife while going to pick up his daughter Sidney for his scheduled visitation. To date, no arrests have been made and those involved in the case have yet to even name the six people in the residence as suspects. They have not been put on any restrictions and Jennifer, his estranged wife/widow have moved out of state with their daughter. The 27th of June there is to be a Memorial ride for Steven starting at Slick Penny's in Chandlerville, anyone needing information please let me know.I also have T-Shirts for sale and I have attached photos of the front and back for you to see. Sizes are M-XL $10, and XXL and above $15. Currently I am working on getting memorial stickers for car windows and will keep you informed on that also. You can also check out info on Steven's case at www.myspace.com/stevenforeverinourhearts.

Hello everyone. My name is Bobby. I created this blog as a way for friends, family, co-workers, complete strangers, to come together and remember Steve. I fall into the category of complete stranger. I never met Steve, nor his family. I feel that not enough is being done in his case to bring his murder(s) to justice. I have never done anything like this before, but for some reason, I felt like Steve's case was the perfect time. I am not doing this for money, or any cause. I am doing this as a concerned citizen who believes justice needs to be served. If you have a memory, or a story about Steve that you would like posted on here, I would be glad to post it for you. You can email it to BSandidge82@yahoo.com. Please put Steve Watkins in the Subject line. Thank You.
