Krisa Elyison is a bride-to-be-bought and paid for by a stuffy aristocrat. Though she secretly longs for just one adventure all on her own, she knows the reality of her life - she is destined to be the wife of the elderly and pompous Lord Radisson.

Kurt Teague is a prisoner - a galactic criminal wanted for multiple murders. He is also Feral, a proud and savage people known for their indomitable wills to survive and their fiercely possessive natures. His tortured past has turned him into a ruthless killer - an unthinkable fate to the innocent, sheltered Krisa.

Resigned to her destiny, Krisa boards the starship that will take her to another planet and her loveless marriage. In the cargo hold, she stumbles across Teague - so fierce a prisoner he's blindfolded and chained to a wall. Even so, her heart jumps at the sound of his deep, gravelly voice. When the ship crashes onto an uncharted jungle planet, Krisa has no choice but to trust the menacing convict with both her virginity and her life.

Yet, on a world filled with ravenous telepathic beasts and cannibalistic natives, Krisa discovers that the gorgeous and mysterious Teague may be the most dangerous animal of all.

I bought this book after it was re-released with the new cover. I was slightly skeptical as I've read the entire Brides of the Kindred series and was expecting a lot of the same wording used because that was the case with that series. I'm was really surprised that they didn't mirror as much as I thought they might. Even the main character, though sheltered, seemed to be a slightly stronger person than everyone the Brides of the Kindred series. They all seemed scared to go after what they wanted due to past experiences and this character didn't have that issue and I was thoroughly surprised and thrilled to read yet another book where women just couldn't go for what they actually wanted. I will say that (not to be too much of a spoiler) that when the final straw that broke the camel's back was going down, I wish the character had just gone with it instead of then turning all scared and looking for a way out. It would have gone over so much better if she took what she wanted and stopped acting so afraid if her mind was already made up. I literally cannot wait for the next book as this was probably my favorite of all the books of hers I have read.

Planet X (Audible Audio Edition) Evangeline Anderson William Martin Evangeline Anderson Books Books Reviews

This was a light-hearted quick read regarding a woman raised to be a Victorian-issue mail order bride. En route to her intended husband, the ship crashes onto planet x, with all but three persons -including herself- left in cryosleep. Her adventures with Kurt Teague, a reluctant passenger, as they traverse the jungle fraught with various perils, are both amusing and sad. The only detracting factor from a five star review would be the need for a more thorough editing.
Well...that's going to keep my fantasy life busy for quite some time!! WOW! This book is seriously HOT & considering how little actual sex happens, that's impressive.. Think pitch black/ riddick meets Disney princess & your close but the characters totally work. It winds up slowly at the start but once it gets going it just doesn't let up...had me totally hooked from start to finish, with great editing so you don't hit those jarring 'what?' Moments..Highly recommend & think I'll be off to read it again, Now...awesome book
I really did love this book after the first chapter or two. Once Teague and Krisa were off the ship and stranded on the stand and dangerous Planet X, the story came to life and the excitement and super sexual escapades began. I have to say, though, that her first encounters with the chained murderer were pretty interesting. The alien characters and animals they came across during their journey to a small village were scary, sweet and sometimes cute. Kisa kept having dreams of a man who did wonderful things to get, but could not see who it was. She was on her way to meet the older man who had purchased her as his bride. She was very shy and most definitely a virgin, so these dreams were very confusing. Their travels through the sense jungle was fought with short days and dangerous animals who killed as soon as night fell. Slowly their relationship began to change and she became a much stronger woman. Especially when Teague was in danger. The time they spent in the village was rather unusual because of the customs of the villagers. Teague has to "show" them that Kiss belonged to him in other to keep a village male from taking her. Seemed like all their customs were pretty sexual and very erotic in nature. Great book and I read it easy too fast. I think it's a standalone novel which is a shame. I would love this story to continue. There was a lot going on throughout the entire book and kept me totally engrossed. More please.
Anderson has a gift, I hope she never stops writing her alien erotic stories!! This was a great length (over 300 pages) giving Anderson plenty of time to develop the characters. Krisa turns from a naïve silly girl into an independent woman.. step by step, not leaps. The H, Teague, stays macho Alpha but the h softens his edges.. in more ways than one. Most of the action takes place on Planet X w/a wonderful unexpected twist @ the end.

If you like Alpha aliens; w/ripped bodies; & virgins that aren't stupid just inexperienced and lots of heat.... you'll certainly enjoy this story.
This book has been sitting on my 4ever, and with a super-busy week, I needed a read that reliably wouldn't use much brainpower. Well, I got that right. I had forgotten how annoying I find Anderson's dumb but well-endowed heroines with the innocent and naive schtick. Even Anderson's trademark dirty tall erotica didn't resonate; she has written better. Planet X did live up to its name, though, with the uninhibited natives.

What saves this book is the changing environments (crashed ship, pastel jungle, village life) and the imagination that went into crafting the predator soondar and the flora and fauna of Planet X. It was weird but interesting. Then at 85% in or so the story takes a more sinister twist, and I wondered how Krisa and Teague would manage to eke out a happily ever after.

Book source Purchased.
Good storyline. I think this was previously published so it will give you a "fresh take" of this series. I may eventually get the audio, the sample leads me to believe it was well done. As other comments suggest there are elements of reminscent to Pitch Black. Good action and pacing. Adequate character building and twists.

Two complaints The dreams Krisa has can be skipped but it seemed like lazy writing to me. It could have worked if there was a magic angle or foresight power but it felt like an attempt to make them destined for each other; However the sexual depth of the dreams and wording were not appropriate for this sheltered character. Which brings up complaint two.

Repetitive and vulgar vocabulary. Crude words are fine if they are an extension of the character's personality but as an author I expect and demand you use a thesaurus. This is your job. Reusing the same adjectives and terms is slothful. If your editor can't tell you this then you need a new one.
